What the assessment involves
Every visit starts with a conversation about your hearing, your health and what you have noticed. Depending on your needs, testing may include:
- Examination of the ear canal and eardrum
- Pure-tone audiometry to find the softest sounds you can hear
- Speech testing to check how clearly you understand words
- Middle ear testing (tympanometry)
- ABR and OAE testing where appropriate
- Balance assessment for dizziness or unsteadiness
